#17 Last Post

The programme was much better for me this time. I was more motivated by going along to the workshops and engaging with other people. At my desk there is too much other work to distract me from the task at hand. Leanne, Carmen and Berta did a great job with the programme and I especially appreciated having Melanie, Tony and James on hand to assist - not just because they were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic but also because it was an opportunity to spend time with other people in the division and know them a little better.
It was interesting to look at all of the applications - some obviously more relevant to a library setting than others - important, I think, not to choose to use something simply because it is popular ...
In the past I had been dismissive of youYouTube but I found lots of really good "how to" / educational videos when I went looking specifically for educational and instructive content. Flickr and Google maps were other favourites for me. It's useful to know what's out there.
